Work, work, work…all of us are going through this process every day of our lives. We work to earn our bread and butter. But sometimes we take for granted that our physical bodies are able to take all the strains and stresses which we are not consciously aware of. Yes, we will only be aware when we experience pain in our physical bodies. It’s sad, but it’s a matter of truth!

More often than not, we tend to experience back pains both slight and severe suddenly when we are not in the least aware of it. It’s something that we do not wish for but suddenly we get this back pain that unfairly stops us from continuing our work.

Back pain can come from your nerves, muscles, bones, joints, or even from other structures in your spine. Low back pain (lumbago) is very common in adults, especially working adults. We do understand what the spine is all about. It is the live interconnection of joints, muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments, all of which are able to produce the pain that you are experiencing right now. Do note that large nerves in the spine and all the way to the legs can cause that drastic pain that we cry about.

There are two categories of back pain. The acute back pain normally lasts less than 3 months. The chronic back pain will last more than 3 weeks and has the tendency to give you more problems. Do note that back pain commonly strikes people in the age range of 35-55 years.

There are many symptoms that will signify that you have been afflicted with back pain. For low back pain, you can experience the pain anywhere on your back, between the bottom of your ribs and the top of your legs. Together with your back pain, you may also be experiencing any of the following symptoms:

1.Fever

2.Inflammation or swelling on the back

3.Pain that is persistent and does not ease after lying down or rest

4.Pain that you can feel in your chest or high up in your back

5.Pain that is down the legs and below the knees

6.weight loss

7. Difficulty in passing urine

For such cases, it is strongly advised that you visit your GP immediately.

What causes the back pain? There are many reasons to account for:

1.Slouching in chairs

2.Bending awkwardly

3.Carrying, pushing or lifting with incorrect posture

4.Standing or bending down too long

5.Sneezing or coughing

6.Over-stretching

7.Driving for too long and in hunched positions

8.Pregnancy

9.Different kinds of arthritis

10. Trip or fall

11. Bone disorders

12. Viral infections

13.Sleeping disorders

14.Gynaecological problems for women

15.Injury

16.Lack of exercise

It is also known that persistent lower back pain can be attributed to other causes such as bone diseases, shingles, fibromyalgial, prostatitis, congenital spinal defects, or even cancer that has already spread to the spine.

The bulging or rupture of one or more intervertebral discs may cause serious back pain. You may experience a slipped disc when the circle of connective tissue surrounding your disc breaks down and allows the soft gel-like part of the disc to swell and protrude outwards. You may as a result feel pain in your buttocks, thigh, calves, feet and toes. This pain may be accompanied by numbness and weakness, pins and needles. Such discs dry out and weaken with age, resulting in stiffness and pain, especially in early morning. Elderly are more prone to such back pain.

No matter what kind of back pain you are afflicted with, it is strongly recommended that you take immediate and appropriate action to tackle this pain. It is unwise to delay taking action, because you may accidentally aggravate the problem. You may seek out any chiropractor or subscribe to proven methods of simple exercises that will help you correct this health problem.

Surely you want to live your life happily and healthily, don’t you? Health remains the top priority if you want to live your life actively. It is a fact that you have no choice but to embrace.

New ways to treat back pain are always being looked at, especially when these new treatments do not involve taking any drugs. People who have a history of back pain often use physical therapy and exercise to prevent the recurrence of back pain. This type of treatment is a deterrent to back pain and should be tried during periods of no pain.

There are a lot of people who would prefer a new treatment for low back pain to permanently cure it all together. Treating the pain with drugs and medication called NSAID’s can have some bad side or undesirable side effects and the people just want to put an end to the pain.

If there is no other way to fix a spinal problem, surgery may be required. Many patients and doctors try to avoid surgery to treat back pain. Invasive procedures such as surgery can often bring about additional complications so other more conservative methods are preferred.

Suffering Scoliosis

There are some people who suffer from back pain that have scoliosis and this can be detected with an x-ray. A lot of times this irregular curvature of the spine can be seen with out the x-ray.

Many orthopedic surgeons are using new treatments to help scoliosis sufferers without using surgery. These new treatments are showing to provide relief for both children and adults who suffer from scoliosis.

Try some alternative pain management For the many sufferers of chronic back pain, and until a new treatment eliminates the underlying problem, they are looking for an alternative treatment to help manage their pain. A visit to the chiropractor has helped to improve the spinal alignment and also reduce the amount of pain.

Some other forms of alternative treatments are:

acupuncture herbal treatments

More Than Just Exercise With the McKenzie Method

McKenzie treatment for low back pain. There are many people who know about the McKenzie method of physical therapy and exercise for back and neck pain. They are not sure of the exact goals of the program though and what the exercises entail. Click on the following link to learn more McKenzie McKenize method for treatment of low back pain.

To fix damage to a herniated disc, surgery may be the only option to recovery. Today, doctors only use surgery as a last option and will try many other types of remedies before going to surgery. There are many complications that can occur when having back surgery to relieve pain caused by a herniated disc, therefore making it a final option. In the past, surgery was often done automatically for a herniated disc without trying any other optional forms of pain relief.

There are many new products coming out that offer pain relief from back or neck pain caused by arthritis. The reliability of these products have come into question and many are taking products such as these without knowing the cause of their back pain. They are only assuming it is caused by arthritis when there may be a different reason for their back pain. So they end up spending a lot of money on products that will have no effect on relieving the pain. Doctors recommend looking for the cause of the back pain first then treating for it.

If you were to talk to anyone that has suffered from a herniated disc, they would be quick to tell you how much it hurts. The pain of a herniated disc is not limited to the back. It can also cause pain to shoot down the arms or in the area of your shoulder blades in the case of a cervical disc. One thing is for certain, anyone that has this problem is looking into herniated disc treatment options. Which ones work the best to help ease the pain?

There are several options but they break down into two main categories, surgical and non surgical. Some people opt to have the surgery, hoping for a quick fix. I, personally, would rather try other herniated disc treatment methods before I let someone cut me open. In fact, there are two that I can think of that I would try first, and then I would move on to other non surgical methods.

Many times doctors will not be quick to advise surgery, either. They would much rather see a patient use a treatment such as hot and cold compresses or perhaps physical therapy to ease the pressure of the disc on any nerves. After a period of a few weeks, many herniated disc patients see noticeable improvements and surgery is not a necessary option.

So if you or someone you know is having a difficult time with their back, you should consider a non surgical herniated disc treatment. Not only is it less invasive than the surgery, the healing times are comparable or even better. Only after all other methods are exhausted should you consider surgery.

Using a Chiropractor to Treat A Herniated Disc!

If this movement does not occur, the outer ring can dry and tear which allows the soft portion of the disc to bulge out. This is what is commonly known as a herniated disc.

Herniated disc symptoms can vary but an ideal non-invasive treatment is available regardless of where your pain is generating.

The pain that is felt from a herniated disc is often difficult to describe. Even among those that share the same problem of having a herniated disc, there is actually a lot a variation in the pain that is felt and in the degree to which it is felt. Here are some different types of herniated discs and a proven herniated disc treatment that might just help you to heal more quickly.

The human spine is an amazing thing. It is made up of 33 vertebrae, 28 of which move independently of the other. Although five of these vertebrae are fused, the others are separated by intervertebral discs. As we age, these discs, very much like the rest of our body, begin to show the signs of aging. It is possible for these discs to become displaced and when that happens it is known as a herniated disc.

A herniated disc can display any number of symptoms, usually associated with pain, depending on the part of the spine that is affected. For example, a herniated cervical disc can cause pain in the neck and shooting pain to go down the arms, while a herniated lumbar disc will typically cause some pretty severe lower back pain. The reason for the pain is similar in each of the cases, the area, however, in which the pain is generated from is what varies. For that reason there is a proven herniated disc treatment that will work regardless of where the pain is originating.

Because a herniated disc is displaced, it needs to get back into its original position in order for the pain to completely go way. The associated swelling, along with the pressure that is put on the nerves of the spinal column is what really needs the immediate attention. Doctors will not be quick to prescribe surgery in order to heal a herniated disc, which is good news because the recovery time can be quite long. Sometimes warm and cold compresses, along with some physical therapy and plenty of rest will be enough to help heal the problem.

There are, of course, other methods of helping to heal a herniated disc that will have more immediate results. Finding the one that will work for you is dependent upon the degree of injury as well as your own personal makeup. By using one of these methods, in conjunction with what your doctor prescribes, you can usually experience relief from your back pain fairly quickly.

Boomers, who account for a quarter of the U.S. population, tend to have more active lifestyles than previous generations. They are as active now as they were when they were younger. But now Boomers are living with chronic low back pain, herniated discs or osteoarthritis. Back pain is a common complaint among middle-aged Americans as they deal with hectic daily schedules, increasingly demanding jobs, and caring for children, grandchildren and aging parents.

Low back pain will affect four out of five adults during their lifetime. Here’s How:

The most common symptom of a herniated disc is "sciatica". Sciatica is best described as a sharp, often shooting pain that begins in the buttocks and goes down the back of one leg. This is most often caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve that exits the spinal cord. Other symptoms include:

Weakness in one leg or both legs
Numbness and tingling in one leg (pins & needles)
A burning pain centered in the low back
Loss of bladder or bowel control (seek medical attention immediately)
Back pain with gradually increasing leg pain. (If you have weakness in both legs. Seek immediate attention.)

Why did my discs herniate?

The normal changes associated with aging are not helpful to the back. As we grow older, (after the age of 30), the back and abdominal muscles weaken and become less stretchable. Also degenerative changes begin to take place in the structure of the discs. They become softer and thinner, which decreases their shock-absorbing quality.

While aging, excess weight, improper lifting and the decrease in water in the discs all contribute to the breaking down of discs, the primary cause of a herniated disc or bulge is uneven compression and torsion that’s placed on your lower back.

This uneven pressure is caused by imbalances in muscles that pull the spine out of its normal position. Your body is forced to function in what I call a physical dysfunction. Every human being develops these dysfunctions over time and eventually they cause enough damage to create unbearable pain.

Your Doctor’s Traditional Treatment Options May Not be the Best Treatment for Your Herniated Discs & Low Back Pain

When it comes to treating herniated discs, there are traditional treatments such as ice/heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cortisone injections, anti-inflammatory medications and even surgery. While these may deliver some relief, it will usually be temporary.

The major problem with these traditional treatments is that they only address the symptoms of a herniated disc. They do not address the actual cause of the problem. For example, even if you were to have invasive surgery and get some pain relief, the fact is the root cause that caused the disc to become herniated in the first place is still there.

Why?

Because, our bodies adapt and change to our environment. This adaptation over time will cause muscle Imbalances. Those imbalances will cause postural dysfunctions. If the dysfunctions are not addressed, they will continue to place uneven pressure and strain on the discs. Sooner or later you will likely have another problem with that disc, or others.

To reduce low back pain and herniated discs, you must identify the underlying cause of your problem. Unfortunately, most doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists don’t spend time or focus on identifying the hidden causes or physical dysfunctions that are responsible for the condition. So most Boomers jump from one useless traditional treatment to the next and suffer with continuous herniated disc flare-ups for months or years unnecessarily.

Here are My Top 3 Treatment Options to Help You Reduce Back Pain Virtually Overnight:

1. Know your Habits, Patterns, Postures and Positions: Understanding the many different causes of muscle imbalances is the first step to a pain free back. It begins with not what we are doing today but what we have done in the past 40 years. What did you do for work? Did you sit? Stand in one place? Were you lifting, bending or otherwise putting your body through hell every day?

2. Review Your Photo History: Simply knowing what you have done to develop your imbalances is only step one. Now you have to prove it to your self that those changes did take place over time. Open your family photo albums and find photos that have you in it from the front and from the side. Then take some of your own right now from the front, from the back and from the side and compare. Now it is natural to see changes but to see the changes and not take action to correct or control the physical changes will not help you.

3. Get the RIGHT Help: Find a qualified Manual Physical Therapist, that is trained to assess postural dysfunction and demand that they create both a short term and a long term plan of recovery for you.

Understanding back pain and taking action are two totally different animals. No one thinks that it will happen to him or her. And because it takes so long for our bodies to reach the point of pain, almost no one takes action to prevent back pain. So if back pain is an issue for you then educate your self and take action everyday. It is never to late to start a program of recovery on your own or with help from an expert.

Herniated disc means the protrusion of the disc in the spine. It is essentially the same situation as a bulging disc, which can be an extremely painful condition. Its occurrence is manifested by a herniated disc pain that is usually felt on the back or thigh and leg area. A herniated disc is more common in the lumbar area, than any other area in the back.

As a person ages, his or her disc tends to become brittle, dry, and have less of a cushiony existence. Once the disc has weakened, the outer part is prone to tearing or any damage. The internal substance of the disc can push through the tear resulting in a herniated disc. As this happens, the person can experience herniated disc pain. Herniated disc is far more common in people aged 30 and over.

Herniated disc pain can be felt at the lower back part down to the legs and feet, which often throws sufferers initially- as the pain is not necessary localized to the problem area/ However generally, the pain is felt in the one side only. The pain will be concentrated depending on which side the weak or damaged disc is located. The intensity of the herniated disc pain also varies on the pressure put upon the nerve by the bulging disc. Most patients under this condition complain of spreading pain over their buttocks that goes down one thigh down to their calf. Others experience the herniated disc pain on both legs, while some in some cases the legs can feel weak, numb and have a tingling sensation.

A herniated disc is also more common in patients who work at their desks or computers for extended periods of time without mobility. In this instance to reduce the amount of herniated disc pain, or to minimize its intensity, try shifting positions and perhaps changing your chair, and making sure to take a break at least once every hour and walk around your home or office. You may discover that supporting yourself up with both your hands while sitting down alleviates the pain. Shifting weight from one side is also helpful. A herniated disc is essentially an alignment problem- the spine becomes adjusted to an unnatural position and you get the bulging disc resulting in herniated disc pain.

Physicians test their patients to see if they are really suffering from a herniated disc by asking relevant questions, doing some thorough physical examinations, and diagnostic testing like x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography scan (CT). Medications may be prescribed to ease the pain- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications are often the most effective, specifically ‘Medrol Dose Pack’. Medication is not always effective on its own, and often a rehabilitation course of strengthening exercises can help the patient to correct the poor alignment and build up the muscles surrounding the problematic areas. Failing such treatment, special massages can be effective, chiropractic care, postural changes and the at the utmost last resort, surgery.

Surgery is only recommended when all the other non-invasive treatments have been exhausted and if severe pain is still present after six weeks or more. However not all patients are eligible for surgery on a herniated disc, it depends entirely on the severity of the condition, and the health of the patient, and other important factors.

Herniated disc pain varies from mild, moderate to extremely agonizing- and obviously pain is a hard thing to estimate unless you are the person experiencing it. Apropos medications and treatments may be readily available- however these may not be the most effective for everyone. It may take some time to discover which style of treatment of the herniated disc is more effective. However rest assured that with the advancements in technologies and medical science that putting up with herniated disc pain is truly a thing of the past.

The excruciating pain that accompanies the dislodging of a disc of the spinal canal is not something that can be put into words. Most patients with the irregularity opt for Herniated disc surgery. The urgency arises out of the fragment of dislodged disc pressing against the spinal cord. Many a time, it even stresses nerves that surround the spinal cord. The pressure exerted leads to the manifestation of symptoms like back and leg pain and weakness of muscles.

Reason for Discomfort

A herniated disc is the result of a shift in the ‘cushion’ that occupies the space between the spinal vertebrae. When this gets pushed out of its normal position, it is diagnosed as a herniated disc. Spinal discs have nerves located very close to the edges. When, with age, the spinal disc becomes less elastic, it ruptures. The herniated disc bulge pinches the spinal nerves and spinal cord.

Any kind of pressure or stress to these nerves or shift in position of the sensitively located disc develops the need to consider herniated disc surgery. The condition could be the outcome of a nasty fall or an accident. It is also observed in the case of repetitive and neglected straining on the spine. A previous condition of stenosis of spine also results in a herniated disc.

Preliminary Tests

The herniated disc surgery involves a number of preliminary tests to determine the extent to which the spinal disc is dislodged. Clinical research helps to find out more about the rigidity of the region that sets in with age. The MRI scan is conducted to display evidence of disc deterioration. Though it is a condition that is normally seen in aged people, patients as young as 30 have also been diagnosed with herniated disc.

Symptoms

The symptoms of a herniated spinal disc manifest mainly due to the compression of the spinal nerves. This results in occasional passing through of abnormal signals or no signals at all. The symptoms commonly associated with a herniated disc include:

Electric shock pains: These are especially experienced when the stress on the nerves occurs in the cervical region and the lumbar. The excruciating pain can be felt in the arms and down the legs.

Abnormal sensations and muscle weakness: Patients report tingling and sometimes numbness in the limbs. On account of the nerve irritation and subsequent interruption of brain signals, muscle weakness is observed.

If left neglected, the condition could worsen into the Cauda Equina Syndrome. This medical emergency results in problems with urination and bowel movements.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of a herniated disc involves physical examination. Tests are conducted for measuring sensations, muscle strength and reflexes. An MRI is conducted to highlight the abnormality. The diagnosis and treatment plan largely depend on the results of the physical examination and MRI.

The surgical treatment involves the careful removal of the dislodged fragment of spinal disc. The pressure on the nerve is released via discectomy. In Open Discectomy, the surgeon makes a small incision of about 3 centimeters, to re-lodge the herniated disc and relieve the pressure on the nerve. The operation lasts an hour, depending on the extent of damage.

The surgery demands the use of special instruments to remove bone and ligament via Laminotomy. Thereafter, the spinal nerves are focused on for life and de-stress, with the removal of the herniated disc fragment. The surgeon is at this point in time in a position to take a call on the condition of the remaining disc. On cleaning out the region, the incision is bandaged.

Endoscopic Discectomy involves the use of special instruments and a camera to remove the herniated disc. In this case the incisions are very small. The procedure accomplishes the same goal, but here the surgeon uses a camera to locate the fragment and the procedure may not require general anesthesia.

Recovery

The previous symptoms like leg pain dissipate after a number of weeks, post surgery. Pain around the incision made is natural and controlled with oral medication. Patients are not encouraged to stay in hospital beyond a day.

Doctors do recommend the use of a lumbar corset brace sometimes. Recovery from Herniated Disc Surgery is best when the patient exercises caution in movements after the surgery.

Human spine or backbone is made from 33 bones, known as vertebrae. There are 7 cervical vertebrae, 12 thoracic vertebrae and 5 lumber vertebrae. There is the sacrum (5 vertebrae fused together) beneath the fifth lumber vertebra, followed by the coccyx or tail bone (3 vertebrae fused together). These vertebrae are cushioned by small, soft pads of cartilage. Spinal discs comprise a jelly-like inner layer, called nucleus and a tough outer layer, called annulus fibrosus. These discs act as a shock-absorber and protect the spine from any kind of injury or stress. Spinal discs also allow bending movements of the spine.

If the spinal disc degenerates due to aging or any injury, the soft inner layer may rupture and get herniated through the annulus fibrosus. This can cause irritation of the spinal nerve, leading to pain, weakness and numbness in the lower back, arm and leg. This condition is known as a herniated disc. It is also referred to as compressed disc, bulging disc, prolapsed disc, slipped disc, ruptured disc or herniated intervertebral disc. Herniated disc most commonly occurs in between the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae in the lower back (lumbar spine); however, it can also occur in the cervical spine.

Causes of Herniated Disc

Herniated disc when associated with wear and tear due to aging is known as degenerative disc disease. As the water content and elasticity of the nucleus of the disc are reduced with aging, people between the age of 30 and 50 are at higher risk of herniated disc. Lifting heavy objects can also lead to spinal disc herniation.

Sometimes, traumatic events such as a fall or any injury to the spine can cause herniated disc. Smoking reduces the oxygen levels in the body, causing deficiency of vital nutrients in the body tissues, thus increases the risk of herniated disc. Some other risk factors include excess body weight, being tall (men taller than 5 feet 11 inches and women taller than 5 feet 7 inches) and occupations that cause excess stress to the spine.

Symptoms of Herniated Disc

Severity of the symptoms of herniated disc may vary depending upon the position and the size of disc herniation. If the herniated disc is pressing on the nerve roots, then it can cause pain and numbness in the back and legs. If herniated disc is in the lower back, then it causes back pain known as sciatica that spreads to the buttocks and legs. Lower back pain and leg pain may worsen after sitting, sneezing or coughing. If herniated disc occurs at upper back, then it can lead to neck pain that may spread to the shoulders and upper arms.

Some other symptoms of herniated disc are numbness, tingling, weakness and muscle spasms. In some rare cases, herniated disc can lead to cauda equina syndrome, which is caused due to compression of the spinal nerve roots. Emergency surgery is required to relieve the pressure and cure cauda equina syndrome; otherwise it can cause permanent weakness or paralysis. If left untreated, herniated disc can lead to some complications such as increasing pain and numbness in one or both legs, bowel or bladder dysfunction and progressive loss of sensation.

Diagnosis of Herniated Disc

If you experience back pain or leg pain that interferes with normal activities for more than a week, then you should consult an orthopedist. Certain tests are suggested by the doctor for the diagnosis of herniated disc such as straight-leg-raising test, cross straight-leg-raising test and screening neurological examination. Certain imaging tests like X-ray, CT scan, MRI scan and myelogram are performed to confirm the location of the herniated disc and to detect which nerve is affected.

Treatment for Herniated Disc

Treatment for herniated disc is decided depending upon the severity of the symptoms. There are surgical as well as nonsurgical options for the treatment of herniated disc. Nonsurgical methods for herniated disc include pain relievers, anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, electrical stimulation, cold therapy, heat therapy, bracing, traction and stretching. You can also benefit from certain exercises like dynamic lumbar stabilizing exercises and aerobic exercises with pain-free activities. In some severe cases, surgical options such as minimally invasive and decompression procedures are recommended.

Nonsurgical Treatment: Many a times, herniated disc improves with nonsurgical treatment options. Nonsurgical treatment aims at reducing irritation of the nerve, relieving pain and improving physical activities. Primary treatment is administered for back pain relief. You need to limit or modify the activities like prolonged sitting, lifting heavy objects or bending, which can aggravate the symptoms. Physical therapy and exercises can help increase the strength and flexibility. Pain relievers like acetaminophen and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and aspirin can help to reduce pain and relieve inflammation of the nerve roots.

Neuropathic pain medications like pregabalin, gabapentin and duloxetine are effective for painful nerve conditions. Lower doses of tricyclic antidepressants like nortriptyline can also help to relieve pain. If you have persistent back spasms, then your doctor prescribes muscle relaxants like methocarbamol, cyclobenzaprine or carisoprodol. If pain is not improved with these medications, then corticosteroids are administered orally or through epidural injection. Some other treatment options including cold or heat therapy, bracing, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), hydrotherapy and traction are also helpful in relieving pain.

Once pain is relieved, the treatment is given to strengthen and stabilize the spine and restore spinal function. Rehabilitation involves physiotherapy and various exercises such as stretching, aerobics, and dynamic lumbar stabilization exercise. These back strengthening exercises help control pain, correct the posture, strengthen the muscles and improve flexibility.

Surgical Treatment Options: If you don’t experience any improvement with nonsurgical treatment options after a period of time, then surgical options are recommended. Surgical treatment is aimed at relieving pain and preventing irritation of the spinal nerve due to herniated disc. Minimally invasive procedures include chemonucleolysis and endoscopic discectomy. Open decompression involves discectomy, microdiscectomy and spinal fusion.

Herniated disc can also be treated with some alternative treatment options such as acupuncture, massage, spinal manipulation and yoga. You can prevent herniated disc by doing regular exercise, maintaining good posture and healthy weight, and quitting smoking.

If you have a back problem, it’s best to get an okay from your doctor before trying yoga. Back pain is often the result of a biomechanical imbalance in spinal structures. Yoga for back pain has been accepted by many chiropractors and back specialists. Before beginning yoga for back pain, consult your doctor to make sure you don’t make matters worse.

Back pain can be caused by a number of situations, from slipped discs to damaged muscles or ligaments. However, back pain can also be caused by infections, bone spurs or tumors. When yoga for back pain is implemented, the pain is reduced by stretching and strengthening the spine. You must exercise proper posture and this should be practiced so that you can get relieved from the back pain even when you’re not practicing yoga. Back pain is increasingly a problem for many adults. The problem can sometimes lie in the fact that the spine is compressed and the back muscles are tight and weak. Since yoga postures aim to strengthen the spine as well as lengthen and stretch muscles, it can be ideal for many back pain sufferers

Yoga For Back Pain Exercise

You can observe your body’s natural tendency to compensate for poor spinal posture with this simple back pain exercise.

From a standing position hold a plastic water bottle in your hands.

Try raising your arms forward and up halfway until they are parallel to the ground.

You will notice a slight backward displacement of your shoulders.

After a short while as you hold this position you’ll also notice muscle tension in your shoulders and upper back.

This is because you body is changing its posture or "compensating" to maintain its balance while holding this position.

Recommendation on Yoga for Back Pain

It is very important to make sure that exercise is the right treatment for your particular condition. It is wise to consult a doctor before starting any exercise program.

Yoga is a fantastic physical and mental activity. It might not cure every type of pain, but it will increase your general health. A physically and mentally healthy person is always more prepared to deal with back pain than a person in poor health.

And this compensation requires the contraction of the muscles in your shoulders and upper back.keeps you from enjoying many of life’s activities, then try yoga for back pain and finally live life as you once did.

Precautions to be taken for Avoiding Back Pain

Your back can continue to be healthy and strong by a regular practice of yoga for back. Work out the poses even if you are not experiencing any back problems. Keeping your back healthy is the best way to prevent low back injury.

Only self-care cannot help you manage and relieve back pain, it can help you prevent it.

For instance, when you’re picking up something heavy, never try to lift objects that are too heavy for you. Lift by bending your knees, not your back. Keep your back straight and your head down and lined up with your back.

Keep the object close to your body, dividing the weight evenly throughout your body as you lift. Never twist your body when lifting.
